WHO / WHY: LONELY WALKERS want me to shoot a videoclip for their upcoming single, "Sunset Idols".

I listened the tune, and I said "sure". Then my long-term collaborator, Ari, organized everything as a line producer and we team up with some up-and-coming crew of friends to produce this in less than 2 shooting days. Lead singer and maing actor was leaving for the USA, so the main actress (and talented art director) and the cinematographer, we had to be quick.

CONCEPT DEVELOPEMENT: It is said that all you need to trigger a movie is a girl and a gun. LONELY WALKERS wanted something mythical... So we went for timeless postapocalytic look, on the budget. Irene Solà was a key figure in this process. The challenge was to produce a whole videoclip for a quite epic song with the imaginarium of the band LONELY WALKERS. That is: a whitle from the night of the times, desert loneliness, a bonfire crackles, along with western-like tunes, tarantinoish riffs. Two fallen idols, the lenght of tragic, modern timelss love story. Maybe it's all about that. But with chamans, and visibly fake blood, and mohawk hairstyles.

In postproduction, we went on developing these ideas: the key was to keep a garage, burnt look, as in a double-feature 70's cinema program. I put together some public domain footage that felt just right for the picture LONELY WALKERS had in mind, and we're there.
