During the 3rd year at Ball State University, the entire architecture studio took part in a design competition for a museum and community center for architecture in Columbus, Indiana.  To educate and showcase architecture to visitors, key functions in the building include gallery and reception spaces, an auditorium, a library, and design studios.  A large outdoor terrace and green roof allows for functions to occur outside and further connect to the surrounding community.  The curving entry serves as a statement building form to draw in and welcome visitors, while the curving roof forms stagger in height to allow light to enter into the upper floor studio spaces.  This presentation boards were done with black and white hand sketches on vellum.
