Project 1: Entropy, Chaos, and Chance

This project is intended to uncover the Entropy, Chaos, and Chance that can be found in nature. I chose to depict this through the use of photography and color. Each photo shows one of the above titles, and then all three together in a triptych. I chose to photograph different areas in beautiful Savannah, GA, to reveal these traits. The use of color is intended to highlight one of the three descriptive terms in the title.

Project 2: Tybee Island Ecology Project

Tybee Island is one of Savannah Georgia's natural treasures. This serene beach has had some ecological issues in recent years. This project is a series of three posters that the Marine Science Center could potentially use to sell in their gift shop. It is intended to support the betterment of the beaches, as well as to show the beauty that exists. These are all photographs that I took, with minimal post-production photo manipulation. The natural colors of the driftwood, the rainbow clouds in the sky, and the unusual root-like patterns found at the low tide shoreline, speak for themselves. The poetry I selected is not my original writing, but it is connected to each image in an existential way.
Project 3: Text in Art

In this project, I chose to use definitions of words that I felt connected to. Whether they describe me as I am or as I would like to be, these words are the definition of some part of me. I have underlaid photos of myself in the background, very faintly, for they are not the focal point. The definitions are the focus. The triptych shows the three as they are intended to be viewed.
