From any high point in Manhattan, if you were to look north you can spot three tan skyscrapers, marking the exact location of Washington Heights. They are not very attractive from afar, but standing in front of the Taino Towers one cannot help but fall in love with the brightly colored balconies in contrast with the muted dirty bricks. The addition color in a public housing building reflects the culture of the neighborhood: Carribena immigrants making a life in an industrial island. with that in mind, I created a flat-packed garment which emulates the Taino Towers.
