Last summer I was Inspired by a friend & seamstress Kelsey Faery (You can check out her creations here & here.)
She's composed from ruffles, polka dots, hard work, good fun and lots of bright, joyous color, and hails from the land of OZ.
A Koala, magical sewing gear and a zebra striped marshmallow gun (complete with a pocket full of marshmallow ammo)
were drawn to represent the amazing, motivating and sunny person she is.
Silhouette profiles were common in the 19th century, espescially on jewelery lockets and keepsakes.
The oval composition is nostalgic combined with a modern update.
Line art lends itself well to vector & print design, I found myself creating a silkscreen design for her clothing tags,
as well as a logo to match.
