Trump the Media and the Republicans

The Cartoon “Trump The Media and the Republicans is a political cartoon addressing the contrasting impact that Donald Trump has had on the media and Republican Party. In this cartoon, we see a swarm of jornalists and reporters crowding Donald Trump, demanding him to Insult women, Mexicans, and other groups of people that he has offended in the past. While the media is fixated to Donald Trump, there is an elephant, representing the Republican Party, being neglected by the media. This elephant has an emotion on his face that expresses both disgust and frustration. Trump has taken all of the attention away from the other Republican candidates and the party itself. It seems as if a majority of the media coverage so far in the 2016 election has been based around Donald Trump’s words and actions due to America’s obsession with Donald Trump. This cartoon depicts the desperation of the reporters and Journalists want Donald Trump to continue saying things that will create more interesting news articles. But it is clear from Trumps face in the cartoon that he is not amused with the press.
In this cartoon the author is trying to show that Trump does not say things to please the press; he genuinely believes that what he is saying is right. The Author of this cartoon is a political cartoonist, so he is used to making cartoons of this type. It seems that the cartoonist is taking a defensive stand towards Donald Trump. In this cartoon it is clear that Trump want’s nothing to do with the media, even though he is receiving most of his attention through media outlets.
