New collection of three books called « Fragments", drawing a piece of history of a territory or country.
The logo of the new collection has been created by combining old typescript typography to a black insert and the only letter highlighted in white is the letter "T", to remind the word "territory ".
To create this collection I first decided to opt for a small format, illustrating the fact that each of them would have a small piece of a great story. My second choice was to use only visuals in black and white to easily link the past and the present. Having chosen to trace the history of Guadeloupe, I used a simplification of the island form to create a visual which, combined with a photomontage is used for the covers of the collection.
The layout plays on cuts and re-forming. And photographs can reform by transparency. Some images are highlighted as being of different sizes, for example.
The book is printed on two kinds of paper, recycled paper revealing a few rough edges and a fibrous paper recalling natural materials. These two textures are linked to the history of sugar cane in the territory.
The three books complement each other: the first three covers re-form a single visual and backs reform the logo of the collection.
