corporate atmosphere in a company

Am Klima können wir hier gerne was ändern, im Sommer ist es hier unglaublich stickig.
I did this project in corporation with Augsburger Allgemeine – the local newspaper company in Augsburg – in a time period of one semester. The main point was to catch the atmosphere in a company we had to choose. This means write lots of emails, stay in contact and go to appointments.
After the first appointment I decided to work with the editiorial office. What is the atmosphere and how can I catch it? What describes the editorial office the best? During a few working sessions I've chosen to work with the newspaper itself. For example I cut the headline out of context and the employees had to write down what the context could have been. It was really nice to see because some of them wrote the story exactly down and some invent completely new and nice stories! An other exercise was with an article and the employees had to cross out words and sentences. The words which are left should describe the atmosphere or the work in this company. These are only two examples, I was there for four hours to have a complete insight into the editorial office, walking around and asking many questions.

The complete plan for the pages (A2 double pages) with 24 pages was planed in class, so everyone got the same division:
cover – two atmospheric double pages – one double page with applications – two double pages with our experience and exercises in the company – one double page with the profile of the company and our experience and feelings – two double pages with our experience and exercises in the company – one double page with applications – two atmospheric double pages – back

At the end we sent it to an offset printery in Frankfurt to get the real newspaper look.
