"Sweet Misery in Spring" This photograph was taken at Powderhorn Ski Resort on the West End. I was on a hike to clear my mind one day, and I ended up by this old ski lift. Skiing at Powderhorn has been one of the most influential and important parts of my chlidhood and I feel like part of my soul resides here. I love the contrast in this picture - the mountains and sky - it really gives focus to the picture. The lines on the lift act well as leading lines because they draw the viewer into the mountain making them look deeper into the picture.
"Looking For Winter" I love this picture. Firstly, the angle that I took the photo at gives it a feeling of looking up as if the viewer is looking towards the future or what is coming next. One of the strongest photographic qualities of this photo is the ropes of the ski lift and it draws the view to look further into the mountain.
