My senior collection at scad. Samsara: The belief that in every reincarnation of our lives we will be chasing after the same goal, for all eternity, through different ways. For this collection I was inspired by the idea that one soul could go though multiple lives in many different cultures and social classes. In this collection I took silhouettes and details from tradition costumes of many different cultures. The idea is that the clothes in this collection have been worn by the same soul though out its many lives. I also wanted to make this collection more futuristic. I chose to use grey tones because I believe that in the future cultures will mix and create a kind of uniformity. The pops of red mandala patterns represent the red ribbon of fate and how it connects this soul to all its different lives. Screen printing done by Courtney Crews. Photographer: Ann Van Epps
