Renaître means to be reborn. I started the company in 2015 to transform waste into beautiful, functional designs.
Reclaim your everday with our handmade mousepads made with reclaimed wood and cork.
Our logo is an ambigram, readable upside-down. The custom type reflects woodcut lettering, and our stamp is hand carved from linoleum.
After several prototypes, I developed a line of stands ideal for mobile, tablet, book, or art display. Influenced by mid-century modern design, our products go well in just about any home or office space.
In addition to home and office design, I created a line of magic wands. Let's be honest, I love Harry Potter, and it's simply too fun to make them.
Our medium stand design comes apart for easy shipping and storage.
The stands are great for bedside tables, the kitchen, coffee tables, or the office. I'm amazed by how often I use mine. Not only does it look cool, it echos the sound, acting as a natural speaker.
We also offer bookmarks in a variety of shapes and sizes.

To reclaim a large waste stream of wood, using a small workspace to create functional, desirable works.
To design and hand-make functional, beautiful, long-lasting products for the home and office. To provide excellent customer service and quality products to a caring market. To design smart and simple products I can manufacture and sell as a side business. To help educate others and inspire similar adaptations for waste streams in other areas.
Solutions: The name Renaître means to be reborn or made anew in French, reflecting the reclaiming nature of the work. The handmade wood-cut based ambigram logotype can be read upside down, becoming anew from any angle. The logotype carries weight, wit, and meaning through it's repetitive forms. I designed and prototyped several products, refining as I went. I then built each piece by hand, with the assistance of my husband, Joel Ludlam. Since 2015, we have launched a social media campaign and Etsy store after doing an in-person test run at a curated market. We recuperated costs within the first months of opening.
