Performance/installation «The Last Supper»
Interpretation of the biblical Last Supper.
The performance is based on the ritual of serving the table.
The table is covered with black earth. Thirteen bowls are used, 12 of which are filled with black liquid. The liquid creates the effect of a black mirror. The empty bowl is the drawing bowl, it creates places for the 12 bowls (Messiah).
I move the empty bowl across the table, shifting the earth, leaving a red trail, exposing the golden mirrored surface that was hiding under the earth.
With this gesture, I form places for the 12 filled bowls.
The combination of drawing and table setting art, creates an object symbolically associated with the religious perception of the Last Supper.
