SEMI- (book)
SEMI- is the title of my Master thesis in Product Design.
This is the book I made to show and describe the whole process: from research, to concept and design,
passing through sketches and maquettes, moodboards and diagrams that I painted with acryl.
I wanted the book to be clear and simple, but at the same time fresh and colourful, trying to involve people
in the reading. That's why I opted for a magazine-like style, from the grid system to the paper, leaving big space for pictures, photographs, drawings and paintings.
Since the title of the project 'SEMI-' is an italian word meaning both 'seeds' and 'half, partial',
I tried to evoke the sense of the project - the sense of incompleteness and the combination of elements - also through the cover. A cyrcle has been cut off from the cardboard which the cover is made of, letting the title SEMI- appear from below, like a coloured spot.
