for a school studio project assignment, i chose to work on a topshop reclaim to wear fictional project brief.
the objective was to introduce the topshop reclaim to wear collection to the singapore youth market.
about topshop reclaim to wear
topshop reclaim to wear is a collaboration between UK fashion brand topshop and eco-friendly fashion brand, reclaim to wear. having already collaborated twice, topshop reclaim to wear aims to save the environment by using the fashion surplus such as stock, remnants and off-cuts, to ensure that a large percentage of pre-consumer textile waste is re-used in a creative way and re-introduced into the market as a new and upcycled fashion product.
concept – one dress
with the slogan "one dress can make a difference to the environment", i have decided on this concept to remove the stigma that it requires a lot of effort to change the environment. i have chosen to embody this concept through a collage background surrounding the model.
the elements in these 7 collages involve the elements of the clothing the model is wearing. such elements would be the colour of her clothing and the patterned fabric. i chose to use watercolours and ripped shapes in the collage to represent upcycling. bright colours are used in this project to show the new lease of life from reused material.
