This is the first international exhibition of the A.G Leventis Gallery in Nicosia, Cyprus. It tells a story of the birth of Jesus Christ and travels the visitors on the Saviour’s first night on Earth.
This extraordinary exhibition traces the deception of the Nativity from the Byzantine tradition and Western Medieval art to the 17th century, alongside the aftermath of the Baroque Period into Modernism. Not only is the “Nativity Stories” the first temporary exhibition in the A.G Leventis Gallery, and embraces the interesting selection of artwork and texts in such an interesting manner. This exhibition helps the visitor explore one of the most loved stories, throughout the stages, in a new light. In an exciting bond between the image and text, the Nativity emerges not as a single narrative, but as an exciting multifaceted story.
