GOODWILL ATTENDED DONATION CENTER

For this collaborative project, a 3-person team developed a modern, simple form inspired by Mis Van Der Rohe’s philosophy of “Less is More.”  The structure celebrates Goodwill’s constant innovation and engagement with the community while accommodating the needs of customers and workers.

The idea was to develop a simple and smart structure that brings comfort to users. In this case users were employees and givers. A goodwill employee works eight hours a day in a mobile structure. Within the structure are several containers to separate donations by category. On the other hand givers might approach the structure during business hours or after business hours. If this is the case, the necessity of a dropbox was essential. If they were to approach the structure during business hours then it was important to provide facility to unload donations. Below please find the development of the concept as well as the structural description as part of our research.
