Boing Tv unrebranded

« A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not the desire to beat others » (Ayn Rand).
We have been invited by Turner Broadcasting  to participate in a rebranding pitch for Boing Tv.

Unfortunately the client did not opt for our vision. But allowed us to share it. So here’s a glimpse at it.

BOING is a trademark of BOING S.p.a. and is used with permission.
Character Design, Concept Art &  Brand Reface by The Josephs © 2015.
The channel generic idents express kids empowerment, their ability to transform daily life, to break illegitimate rules.

BOING’s bouncing dot transforms familiar surroundings. The dull & daily life is altered into a fantasy universe called AniWorld.
In AniWorld, a stair becomes some gigantic water slide, shelves are tree houses, a dining room is mold into a crazy feast... And a bathroom becomes a sunny island.

AniWorld is simply augmented reality !
Multiple mini events & actions occur during each ident. We stage every ident in order for kids to search & find, to make new discoveries each time they watch it over again. Hence watching the channel generic idents becomes an ungoing game.
The Onimalz are extraordinary beings who live in a fantasy hidden world. Mysterious avatars, the Onimalz are asserted by their animal-totems, which define their traits & behaviour.
Puckish & ingenious sidekicks, the Boos are extraordinary inventors. They could as easily build up a plane from scratch or create a beaming beacon out of a potted plant.
Blobs are funny & lively critters whose simple shape could easily be tuned into Turner’s characters, or fit the channel’s seasonal needs.
Boing bigger (character design research)
Keep boingin' (fantasy world artworks)
Brand characters do not speak, but only make funny sounds or onomatopoeia. We add emoticons as another mean for them to express their feelings through a secret & funny language.
Our logo proposal emphasizes the brand. The bouncing dot opens up, making it a more lively object. Boing's bouncing dot is redesigned, reminding the shape of an  eye. Ultimatly it invites kids to watch through the brand to discover a hidden fantasy world.

Boing's bouncing dot reveals promos' infos in a convincing, yet smooth, animation. A couple of details in the templates’ animation are subtle reminders of a classical web video player. Promos end pages highlight Turner-Time Warner characters in a standout graphical approach.
We ad animated gif on promos’ end pages to underline the promoted show. This simple, yet visually outstanding, mecanism fits the channel' continuity's need to be regularly renewed.
We redesign using vivid colors & a low poly feel, to match the overall channel rebrand. We recommand a new social functionnality for kids to share their own generated content, opinions about shows...

We emphasize social media usage by developping a couple of dedicated audience targeted concepts (boinged facts on twitter, brand character sefie world tour on instagram, home-made video  brand chacraters video clips on Meerkat...)
We want to share our creative work and build a complete franchise. Hence monetizing brand characters (3D printing models, cross-content web mini serie...)
The Josephs express their kindest regards to Turner Broadcasting for the amazing opportunity... Untill next time ;)

The Josephs would like to thank all the people at : StartRec (sound), Fix Studio (post) & Fighting Fish (web design).
All owned by The Josephs : Julien Tande (Creative Director), Axel Leroux (Art Director), Julien Fleury (Creative Producer).
