A series of Chinese icons are designed with the objective of combining graphic design with woven structures. Each one represents a symbolic element of the Chinese culture, and the woven patterns resemble China’s traditional architectural ornaments and emblematic latticework. The yarn swatches are chosen under the same concept.
The icons are cut in a paper machine cutter, and framed with the woven samples, resulting in minimalist yet elegant decoration pieces. Finally, an additional piece is woven in the jacquard loom using two weft colors and various woven structures.
