San Francisco 49ers - graphic design coordinator

Coming in as the team's first ever in-house graphic designer, I was responsible for the creative design and coordination of various marketing and promotional collateral throughout the organization, while maintaining the integrity of the storied 49ers brand. The season ticket guide (closeups shown here) was sent to all season ticket holders and prospective fans.
Inside pages for the season ticket guide.
Instead of the usual highlighted calendar or list of games to showcase the season schedule, I created a piece that was more visually appealing. The successful design originally created for the Ticket Guide, was eventually used for the Luxury Suites booklet, as well as expanding it into this full game schedule poster.
I transformed a plain beige 2008 GMC Yukon XL into a fully wrapped moving promotional piece. The vehicle was used for all things 49ers, from gameday transport and display, to a variety of community events and appearances. The response was so positive (not to mention all the honks on the freeways from admiring fans), I worked with our Community Relations department to have a 14 foot box truck wrapped for our Youth Football program. The truck hauled all the equipment for the youth football camps and events.
Gameday magazine is published for each and every home game during the season. I designed the covers for two seasons, including color correction and blueline proofing for final print. A large amount of image adjustments and clipping masks in Photoshop was required.
This high-end booklet for luxury suite sales was designed to be a strong, classic, image driven piece. The challenge to sell suites in the oldest stadium in the NFL was not easy, but this piece worked as a strong sales tool. The cover (detail, above) simply had a blind emboss of the 49ers logo with the words “Suites” and the inside pages included varnishes on the color photos and gold foil ink for the headers.
On October 5, 2008, the 49ers honored Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young by retiring his jersey number during the halftime ceremony. As a memento, all fans in attendance received a 24” x 36” commemorative Steve Young poster. Over 50,000 posters were printed for this special occasion.
As a show of the organization’s appreciation for their faithful fans, I designed these 2008 team calendars which were given out at the last home game of the 2007 season.
