Anti-Bullying PSA

I wanted to show how bullying is an issue that effects everyone and anyone can help the victim by standing up to a bully. The target audience is children and teenagers but the lessons can be applied to the workplace for harassment. In this PSA, I want to tell how important it is to speak out against bullying because they have the power to make the world a better place for others.

Statistics:

- The 2010–2011 School Crime Supplement (National Center for Education Statistics and Bureau

of Justice Statistics) indicates that, nationwide, 28% of students in grades 6–12 experienced

- The 2013 Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)

indicates that, nationwide, 20% of students in grades 9–12 experienced bullying. (http://

- Over half, about 56 percent, of all students have witnesses a bullying crime take place while at

school. (http://www.bullyingstatistics.org)

- 90% of 4th through 8th graders report being victims of bullying. (https://www.dosomething.org)

- 7 in 10 young people are victims of cyberbullying

I finally settled on Avenir because it has many different typefaces in the family. The Black and heavy versions is very strong and the different weights allow me to accent individual words.
