The task was to design a public building in the hearth of Zsámbék, a cosy village near Budapest. I have chosen to desing a Market Square and a Grocery Store. In my opinion, the market is one of the most inportant places in the life of a community, as I experienced in my childhood: people go there not just for the fresh food, but meet each other.
The brick walls are doubled. The external layer appers as the texture of the facade. Brick and stone are widely used as building materials in this country. Here and there the solid and tight brick walls turns to "filter walls" in front of the windows and on the bound walls.
