Singapore Time-Lapse Collection commemorates Singapore’s accomplishment in creating a decade time-lapse for the country after its independence in 1965, materializing the period by bridging the events that happened during each of the ten years interval. It is a comprehensive label that includes the NEWater Collection, Economy Collection, Identity Collection and Choice Collection. Inspired by time-lapse photography, the collections act as snap shots to document Singapore journey in the continual progress of existence in the past, giving the nation a glimpse of the successful and difficult checkpoints through the ages.
NEWater Collection
In near 1975, water recycling in Singapore began and the experimental treatment plant was the beginning of what is known as the NEWater today. Among the different procedure, the most important system (Reverse Osmosis) of the entire treatment process is the prominent aspect featured in the jewellery.
Economy Collection
In 1985, Singapore experienced the first economy recession. Economy is the relationship between money, materials, or labor. The amount of monetary value is equivalent to the amount of energy as money is offered as a reward for hard work. It has the same definition between diamond and coal. While both are the same minerals composed of carbon, they served a different purpose.
Identity Collection
In 1995, the country biggest mascot, Merlion tower is built on Sentosa. Merlion is a mascot and an identity to represent Singapore. Just as unique as Merlion, every residing people in Singapore are different and the most distinct thing to represent each individual is the National Registration Identity Card (NRIC).
Choice Collection
In 2005, the government endorses the decision to legalize casino-gambling and build two Integrated Resorts (IRs). Gamble does not always have to involve with a deck of cards or roulette. Life is a gamble. Every decision making is a wager of one’s future and even a simple coin tossing game of ‘heads or tails’ is a gamble for answer between choices.
