Pattern and repeat
Digital print
This was my first Digital project i completed in my last stages of year one, Fashion Textiles:Print at the University for the Creative Arts, Rochester. This was an extension of a previous project from prints which i had drawn and painted from old missplaced objects.  I used lots of different influences to come up with my final designs and colour pallet. Designers such as Basso and Brooke where very good references, i also created two seperate garment pieces with two of the different prints from my final collection. The dress silhouette from the two garments was inspired by the designer Reem Acra. The images shown here are a few designs from the final collection. I wanted to keep the prints quite close together. They can also all be repeated which was a big idea and learning curve as to how to create this. the colours are very feminine and magical looking, something in keeping with a lot of my designs throughout the projects.
Below i have added a few images of the original drawings i created at the very beggining of the print process, as you can see, very different to my final digital designs. This is because of all the different designer and colour influences that where involved in creating the later print designs. These original drawings very much focused on the detail in very plain everday objects, trying to capture the most interesting aspects and lines.
