Role: Lead Graphic Designer
Santikos Theatres is a cinema chain based in San Antonio. The obstacle was to figure out how to create an ad that illustrated the concept of community without the use of people.
My initial concept was the obvious solution, to use a group of people to represent a community. After I received feedback from my first iteration, I did some design thinking and began to brainstorm. I asked myself, who was I designing for? I wanted the customers entering the auditorium to feel as though they were truly part of the Santikos community, so I chose a photo of empty chairs to represent the countless people that fill the theater every day.
