Pay Attention - Exhibition Design

Pay Attention:  Fashion’s Rebel, Jeremy Scott!

Pay Attention is a fictional exhibition of famous American fashion designer Jeremy Scott and his works in SCAD Museum of Art.

Topic: I chose one of the most famous American fashion designer Jeremy Scott. He is notable for his whimsy and witty style. He was greatly influenced by Andy Warhol, so he also use various color. In addition, he usually get idea from S&M leather culture, mermaids and sea monsters, food, and even Gilette Venus razors. For these reasons, his clothes catch the viewer’s eye and make to pay attention.
Visual Language
Logo
My objective for this project is to express Jeremy Scott’s playful and trendy style. The exclamation mark in the main title shows the whole concept of this exhibition: Attention! I’ve used an eye as the main graphic element for the same reason. The bold style of the typeface, Federal Service, and its shadow effect match well enough to represent his style and therefore to use on the exhibition title. These effects also make the main title eye-catching. I’ve chosen Armor Piercing as the second typeface because its playfulness goes well with Federal Service . The various colors and patterns also show Jeremy Scott’s style very well .
Environmental Graphics
I placed the main title in the center with many eyes flying around next to it, so as to emphasize the logo. I used Gizmo and Miso typefaces on the information wall because their rounded and unique shapes helped look playful. Lastly, I chose Hobo Std Medium for the quotation wall. I used his intense picture for exterior poster, and I focused on standing out the letters.
Packages
For packaging, I was inspired by a lunch box. I tried to make a package for candy and chocolate that looks like a cute, little candy bag. This colorful candy package has patterns from the main graphic elements used in the exhibition - mainly eyes and money icons. On the front, it shows a funny face, and I played with his name using a typeface, Armor Piercing on top of the three boxes.
