"Essence"
I feel the sea breeze
I see this iron relic
I desire to flee.
I want to withstand
No fire, hurricanes can breach
Steadfast against pull.
I pet the pirate
The only thing she steals though
Is my affection.
I relate to you
A speck of yellow in green
One in a huge world.
Crossroads of culture,
I have seen you all before
Yet, I still feel stirred.

"Mood"
Why are you happy?
 Surrounded by a blue sea
Drowning from within.
Waterways and steam
The industries beckon men
Can’t let it call me.
I should feel joyous
Going home should be a treat
Why don’t I reflect?
Snark and sarcasm
Elated that  others have
My language of choice
I feel paralyzed
Unable to achieve dreams
Like sun in my eye.

"Perspective"
Like a tired friend
I am invited to stay
Speckles on a bench.
Purple and gold heads
I stop to admire their smiles
My pause, a lifetime.
I want to climb high
Far away from what I know
Reach the pinnacle.
Like cold to warmth
A harsh juxtaposition
To what I should feel.
Brick, metal, and wood
I wish my path were as set
As brick metal wood.

"Movement"

What is that I hear?
Pitter Patter Pit Pat
Look! Cat on the move!
Lines Swim like Wrinkles
None escape the wrath of time
Not even my face.
Time passes slowly
Waiting for life to begin
Soon, passes by.
I want to be bold
I want to express myself
To be creative.
They all flow one way
All happy to be the same
I veer, my path new.
