Doblin - Living With Type 2 Diabetes

As part of a job application process with design consultancy Doblin, I was asked to look over a research packet and participant interviews, in order to draw insights and propose platform-level solutions to help the client– an insurance company– better serve type 2 diabetes patients.
Insights:
Solution 1:
Create a Collaborative innovation network through an online portal that patients can access with information, quantified data, and a support system from other patients who are going through the same difficulties.
Solution 2:
Create a community of practice around the patient's existing social network (friends, family, co-workers, etc.), by implementing a service similar to Blue Apron, where patients are mailed recipes for healthy meals, as well as the ingredients for preparation. The system encourages patients to invite their loved ones to try their new diet in recipes that have been crafted to be enjoyed by more than just diabetes patients.
Solution 3:
Combine elements from solutions 1 and 2, creating a mail delivery system for recipes and information that can be informed by the patient's data on the online portal. The more data the patient inputs, the more detailed and specific the deliveries will be to the patient. In addition, the service allows the patients to strengthen their physical social networks, while building a new network of supporters.
