The book that I made is a children book that targeted an audience of children age four to nine years old. The purpose of this kids poem book is for children to understand the meaning of friendship and the value of friend. The book here contains one poem that is divided into sentence on each page with an illustration that describes the sentence.

 

The illustration that I make is based all based on manual illustration using pencil and water color only, why I do not re-outline the drawing is that I do not want the illustration to look cartoon as the people are not in a proportional matters. After scanning the drawing, some are retouch on adobe Photoshop just to clean some messy color. The intention of my illustration is to make the picture/ drawing not in very proportional as it is for kids, the shape, lines and details are not very clearly shown as well.

 

By choosing the size of the book itself, I clearly want a book that are easy to hold by the children that is why I make the size into the minimum rules on the project brief, which is 18 for the height and 22.5 centimeters for the width that simply make a landscape book. The reason behind my choice of size that wanted a small book beside easy to hold for a kids is that some children and my childhood experience, sometimes a book that they like would always stay with them, by which means bringing them to sleep, eat and even to go somewhere, they treated the books they like as a toy.
