Character Design
Character designing has always been a passion of mine. My mind is always in a frenzy of giving personalities to each of the characters that I've dreamed up. Most of them are still locked in my mind and my mind only, but some day I will put all of them on paper.
Blue Cat is my alter ego. I have her as my representative of my artwork.
I have to admit, drawing her fur is challenging. The fur has to be short but soft, as is a Russian Blue's fur. Initially I used a fur brush, but later on found out that hands-on approach on each individual fur is the best way to go. Nothing beats being able to control which way a particular strand of hair would go.
I am quite pleased with the end result. People have commented that she looks cheeky, which is an exact embodiment of me!

The characters below all come from the same medieval setting story I've been improvising for quite some time. I am mindful that each of them comes from a different part of the continent they all live on, and thus have different culture and clothing styles.
I saw a competition for characters inspired by ocean creatures, and thought of a '70s disco-dancing jellyfish. It was nonsensical, and lots of fun.
