Another life of Harold
This small zine is about how image can be changed and loose its meaning and context. Harold is a well known meme. We can upload his images from photobanks. And the story is about how we can make any other image like Harold's picture. And it will live it's own life and acquire new properties. Harold has cancer and he feels pain. His pictures is special because of that reason because we can see it in his eyes and in his gaze. Recently Russian advertising agency took his pictures for commercials for banks. What I did was my attempt to do this manipulations with image. It took 5 days to draw different variations of Harold. I'm trying to do it from day to day. My method is to draw not from the original Harold, but to draw from the previous versions of image that i did before. Modern media make us perceive things without their symbolic meanings and this is a consequence of the speed of perception of the things around us.
