Castles and Krakens

team logo design for general documentation purposes/branding (featuring clarry the cloud kraken, the game's animal mascot :>)
initial concepts for the main protagonist, jamie, and the "protagonist", wesley
concepts for different battle classes jamie can use
jamie and clarry
Cuddles, the leonine brawler (nonbinary, neutral pronouns); the main party's fighter class
Charles III, the blacksmith (ftm trans dude); the tank
Pan, the Darkfyre mage (pangender, she/they pronouns); evidently, the party's mage class
more cast doodles (with a guest appearance by podrick from squire, a previous game project) (this game is totally not squire's spiritual successor, nope)
dialogue sprite concepts (would appear in most dialogue-based situations in both campaign and real world)
comparing two styles of battle sprite against environmental concept art (not done by me)
battle icon samples
battle sprites, and character profile busts for the status bars that appear on the hud in battle scenarios (feat. jamie, and gregorovitch (the game's main antagonist))
pixel sprites for the overworld in old and updated styles; i had virtually no experience with working with pixel art and spritesheets before this project, so the old spritesheets i'd produced were... substandard, haha. After putting in more research and experimenting around with pixeling methods however, i was able to produce vastly improved sprites that now also match the environmental tilesets created by the environmental and background artist.
dialogue sprites for main character cast (real world and game world), and a few npcs as well. i tried to come up with designs for each character that would be recognizable, and would visually and aesthetically match their game selves to their real world counterparts.
