Design 8 | Live-Work-Cook

This home is designed as a live-work space for a chef.  The plan organization is directed by a 4’ grid, an appropriate module for typical stud framing, and the kitchen is rotated from this grid to give it hierarchy.  Programmatic spaces are fractured off the kitchen, which serves as a central gathering space and transition between the private living spaces and more public outdoor/dining areas.  The roof is pitched to maximize rainwater collection, and the rainscreen facade system lets in light while reducing the impact of cold winter winds.
