Tableware Set

In our busy days sitting at the dining table is one of the moments where modern society
practice the ancient need to eat while share and build strong relationships. In many
primitive cultures this simple moment was ritualized as an important ceremony to ensure
the survival of  entire family groups or cultures.
The objective of HOLOS is to recreate this importance through the form, textures, weight and materials. Using porcelain ovoid forms that triggering our unconscious respect form this geometric stone forms and making a delightful emotional connection with a strong visual impact.
Background and Context
Sketches
Mock-Ups
This Mock Ups made in a handcraft porcelain workshop, with the materials available. The objective was to obtain information and impressions about  sizes, textures, colors, forms and potential materials from potential costumers and manufactures.
Some of the conclusions leads me to make radical changes, in sizes, colors, and take some
considerations about this production.
Product Concept
All pieces are being designed to be manufactured in a ceramic slip casting. These technical drawings were made  with that consideration and serve to make a pattern. With this patterns the manufacturer can develop the plaster moulds.
For the engineering development costs and for the most convenient public price , the minimum quantity for this production is 2000 pieces for each element.
