Morsels of Memory - Episode 1: Lamb and Chop
My project revolves around the notion of food as an instigator of memory and nostalgia. Though it is something that many of us see as being an everyday necessity, food plays an important part in our lives as it holds the power to be something more experiential and sensational—not just limited to beautiful aesthetics and delicious tastes. ‘Morsels of Memory’ aims to provoke others to view food as a powerful medium for reviving and preserving those ‘sweet and sour’ moments in time that would otherwise remain forgotten.
This three-minute animation appears as one out of a proposed television series, coupled with a small publication developed to accompany the completed DVD. With the primary target audience being people between the ages of 18-30, I hope to reawaken a sense of playfulness and youth associated with memories of the past by encouraging the nostalgia interwoven through the stories of food.
