The Buddy Rescue toy comes with one boat, two "buddies," a life preserver, and a rescue rope. When a "buddy" floats astray, children can throw a life preserver to the buddy and reel it in with the rescue rope.

The final models of Buddy Rescue were created by sanding and cutting blue foam on the hot wire. The "buddies" were created using the metal lathe and final parts were airbrushed.

When placed in the bathtub, the Buddy Rescue Boat changes color when the water reaches a temperature at or above 86 degrees Fahrenheit.This lets the parents and child know when the bath is starting to reach an adaquate temperature. If put into production, non-toxic thermochromic ink can be added to the plastic to create this visual effect.
