Miscellaneous TAGA Promotional Material

One of my responsibilities as Vice President of RIT's chapter of TAGA was to coordinate several public-facing operations, including recruitment, promotion, and calling for papers. I designed all of the items included in this project, giving a nod to our design aesthetic of Swiss Modernism.
This poster was hung campus-wide on RIT, and was well-received by graduate and undergraduate students alike.
This poster was hung campus-wide on RIT, and helped us recruit around ten new members, both in and outside of our college.
This is a 3.5" x 5" handbill that was printed and handed out at club fairs and other recruitment opportunities.
This is a large, table-sized banner that was designed to serve as our public identity at conferences and club fairs.
This small insert was mailed out with every fundraising letter (read below) that our promotions team sent out this year.

Dear CIAS Alumnus,

Hello! My name is Jacob Walsh, and I’m writing you today on behalf of RIT’s chapter of the Technical Association of the Graphic Arts. As a member of the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences alumni community, you are presumably curious as to what is going on at your alma mater.

The Technical Association of the Graphic Arts (often referred to as “TAGA”) is a name that you may (or may not) know very well. We are a student group that takes on the annual task of compiling research, designing
a book, and bringing our work to the international TAGA conference hosted by the Printing Industries of America. In an industry that is scaling back, RIT TAGA is doing the opposite, and this is a big opportunity for RIT to gain some additional recognition for the work its students are doing.

I’m writing you today to ask you to help us in our effort to continue representing RIT with the highest quality product possible by making a donation to TAGA.  We have a small budget though Student Government, but it does not come close to covering the expenses necessary to produce the book.

This year, we have refined our executive board, our workflow, and our design. We are working more productively than ever, and look forward to being able to share the final product with those who can help to support this project. No donation is too small and every dollar helps us towards producing the final product.

Your generosity is appreciated by all of the members of TAGA. If you’d like to learn more about the great things that RIT TAGA is doing for the School of Media Sciences and the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences, please feel free to get in contact with me, and we can schedule a time to talk.
Warm regards,

Jacob Walsh Vice President
RIT TAGA
