RIT SIS Redesign

RIT's Student Information System is something that all RIT students are familiar with. We use it to sign up for classes, drop classes, check exam schedules, look at our grades, and manage practically every part of our academic life here at RIT. The problem with the current system is that it wasn't designed with the user in mind, in the slightest. It’s clunky and incredibly confusing to navigate.
For this project, we were tasked with redesigning the RIT SIS website to make a more visually appealing site as well as one that much more user friendly.

Current SIS
The current SIS website is very, very dated and appears to have no thought, whatsoever, for the user. Its very clunky, very unappealing to look at, and this results in a system that, eventhough is requried to use by us students, is used as little as possible.
Itteration Process
Inspiration Board
I wanted the new design to feel open, free, and very approachable. Keeping the color scheme mostly white, with hints of light grays helped to achieve the feelings I wanted this design to have. Using the "RIT Orange" as the main accent color helped to with making this feel like an RIT brand website.
