Clarendon Type History Poster

This is the final version of my type history poster for Typography class. The typeface I chose to research for this poster was the attention-grabbing Clarendon. It has a rich and colorful history stretching back to the mid 1800s,  and continues to be used for many purposes today. Use of Clarendon was particulary popular and widespread as the type for "Wanted" posters in the American 'Old/Wild West' and I decided to focus on that piece of its history for this project. In order to set this apart a bit more, I also decided to add a satirical twist to the design.
I realized early that the old paper background would be a critical aspect for authenticity. For that reason I spent a considerable amount of time working just on that element. In the linked WIP section I have included several images of that progress, as well as the project as a whole.
