Self-initiated work
So I collect toys. I also collect shoes. But not just any kind of toys, and not just any kind of shoes.
Tokidoki vinyl toys are made possible by the artist Simone Legno, from Rome, Italy. Tokidoki means 'sometimes' in Japanese. What ignited his fascination of the Japanese culture, was the ultra modern happy face of Shibuya and the serious magic silence of Kyoto. Through Legno's eyes, 'sometimes' is meant to reflect moments that change one's destiny, by chance or by meeting a new person. He sees it as hope, the hidden energy that everyone has inside, which gives us the strength to face a new day and dream about something positive that something magical will happen to us - and I believe in it. Till this day, I have a few toys on deck and will continue to have all of them in my possession...one day hopefully.
