Objective: my objective was to humanize the inmates involved in Knitting Behind Bars, a rehabilitative knitting program started in Jessup, Maryland. To question the ethics of mass incarceration in the U.S., and the relative absence of rehabilitative measures in those institutions. To create compassion and empathy to eventually be directed towards action.
