Coanda Smart Ceiling Fan

The Coanda Smart Ceiling Fan replaces the traditional residencial ceiling fan, created in collaboration with Constantino Papatsoris.
Unlike traditional ceiling fans, Coanda uses principles of air compression and fluid dynamics to distribute air around a room, giving it a bladeless appearance.
Coanda is also a connected device that allows users to control the fan settings from their smartphone or tablet. Further, Coanda can communicate with other smart appliances in the home, such as thermostats, in order to better regulate room temperatures and save users money on energy bills.
Connectivity also allows Coanda to read the local weather forecast in its location, so that the device may adjust itself automatically to external temperature conditions.

Coanda's symmetrical design allows for the device to automatically shift flow in colder temperatures in order to allow thermal destratification. When temperatures are colder, hot air from furnaces naturally rises to the top of a room, where users cannot feel its effects, thus increasing energy expenses. Thermal destratification pushes the colder air to the top of the room, thus pushing the warmer air downwards, where users can feel its comfort faster.
