Our coffee table with proportions of a bench is not a mistake, but a design necessity!

In order to fit this furniture piece in to a combination living room/entry hall, we decided to prioritize length over width. With this layout, circulation and flow will be created for the space.  The span was also an important point when taking the leather couch in to consideration. The open groove on the top was intentionally done with the purpose of accenting the length of the table.

This custom-made design is simple, giving most attention to the actual material, an over 50 years old 3” thick reclaimed fir. The goal was to keep the bark and patina colours acquired by the wood after many years of wear.
Instead of wood joinery, special custom hardware with a distinctive patina was created for this project.
The dimensions of this custom piece of furniture are 60”L x 19”W x 19”H.
