In my Advanced Digital Illustration class, one of our assignments was to create a caricature of a person or character using Corel Painter 2015. I thought it would be fun to stylise one of my favorite YouTubers, Daniel Avidan, who is a co-host of a channel called Game Grumps & one of the stars of musical comedy groups Ninja Sex Party & Starbomb.
I tried to stay close to the photo I used as reference while also retaining my style in the image. He's known for being flirty with women & one of his defining physical features is his thick hair, so I made sure to incoporate both in the image, such as curls, flyaway hairs, & a suggestive expression. I also played around with blending of colors to build form. I knew I didn't want to do anything too rendered, so I kept the painting pretty loose to mimic a sort of pastel/chalk feel to the piece. This project is different from my usual technique, but I had fun nonetheless!
