Would you rather be seen as Inspirational or Successful?

In my foundation studies I was given the brief to produce a front cover for a magazine which I most admired. The front cover highlighting an important thought provoking message which also relates to the magazines key themes and beliefs or interests.
This magazine is sometimes mistaken to be a 'feminism' magazine celebrating just women and excluding mens liberation, which is not the case I love this magazine as it is much more than that. The Gentlewoman celebrates modern women of style and purpose. Its fabulous biannual magazine offers a fresh and intelligent perspective on fashion that’s focused on personal style – the way women actually look, think and dress. Featuring ambitious journalism and photography of the highest quality, it showcases inspirational women through its distinctive combination of glamour, personality and warmth. These qualities are also at the heart of its website, thegentlewoman.com, a virtual place where real women, real events and real things are enjoyed.
I looked into many social issues in this project. My main focus throughout my research was into the person or famous individual used on front covers and how this represents how women are represented in society today. When researching into many front covers I realised that many magazines present women who are ‘successful’ and many who are seen as ‘inspirational’. In this project I explored and tried to high light the differences between the two through my photography skills and interest in Editorial Design.

Success
Is the fact of getting or achieving wealth, respect, or fame. The correct or desired result of an attempt. Someone or something that is successful is a person or thing that succeeds.

Inspirational
To offer something valuable, uplifting which motivates others to bring out the best in themselves. To be inspirational is to lead by example and encourage others to feel there is something worthwhile to become and do.

Is there really that much of a difference?
