INFLUENCE [ 2014 Fall ]

The topic for this painting project is “some one who influences me the most and the influences he or she made.”

For the person who influenced me the most, I decided to draw my self. The reason that I think that I am the most influential person for myself is because no matter who is applying influence on me it is myself who decides which advices to listen to and which changes to make, therefore making myself the one who is really controlling the influences. I decided to paint myself in a way that I used to do when I am small. I also drew other components of the painting by mimicking the drawings that I made when I’m small. By doing so, the whole process is also a way of representing the influence that I had chosen to be influenced by. From mimicking the drawings I realized how much I have changed through things as simple as how I draw a straight line. Through this whole process I am then able to fully represent the influence itself.
