Mission Statement
The AN&SC provides hands-on educational exhibits and recreational activities that increase awareness and appreciation of the natural environment.

Position Statement & Strategy
“Weird is in our nature.”
Nature is weird and so are Austinites. In celebration of that fact, this campaign asks locals to be themselves, while engaging in their natural environment at AN&SC. This campaign appeals specifically to locals, embracing Austin personalities and values.

Logo
The ampersand exemplifies the eclectic nature of AN&SC and the city of Austin. The typographic archetype is used in small contexts, where the illustrative form is used in large contexts.

Print Advertisements
The print ads showcase iconic Austin personalities engaging with nature at the Austin Nature & Science Center.
Wayfinding & Signage
The exhibit signs juxtapose imagery of animals with a special characteristic of that animal, such as diet or habitat. Dynamic imagery prompts reading and retainment of fun facts listed below.
Pass-code Game
This game makes navigating the Center an engaging experience. Visitors may start and complete the game at any point, learning fun facts along the way. Upon completion, participants may redeem points for having the correct answer.
"Wild Thing" 1960s Re-Open Event
To celebrate the new park design and generate awareness, AN&SC will host a 55th anniversary reopen event. This event will entertain, inform and inspire visitors.
Social Media
The AN&SC #SeetheNatives frame is a pop-up photo booth, capturing Austin's native people and places on Instagram. Representatives will provide an AN&SC information card
to participants, letting them know where they can retrieve their photos. This campaign promotes awareness for the center and encourages Austinites to observe their natural environment.

Adopt a Garden Plot
AN&SC will allow local organizations and businesses to adopt a plot in the Center to maintain. This promotes community involvement, and causes visitors personally invest in their natural environment.
Web & Mobile
AN&SC now has a web domain of it's own, separate from Austin Parks and Recreation. Key information about exhibits and events are highlighted, with more information accessible in a way that is easy to navigate.
