FASHION FILM PROJECTS FOR BALA
These collaborative fashion film projects were created in two different career stages of my life.
The first project was in university as part of my graduation collection in a short film with animation and visual effects.
Since the collection was inspired by a science fiction french film called Le Voyage Dans La Lune, which translates into "A trip to the moon" - the concept was to create a dream sequence on green screen so the motion graphics designer who add the graphics and the visual effects in post production.
THE IDEATION
The idea was to show the girls mesmerised, dreaming of an intended voyage to the moon which they consider a very special place to be. The film starts off with the girls watching the moon, falling into some sort of a dream-like trance, imagining a voyage to the moon's surface. I wanted the audio to be remixed in such a way that it builds and then drops in alignment with the pace of the video.
THE CHALLENGE
Because the inspiration for the collection was so complex and emotional, it was important for me to portray it with the help of motion graphics to convey the message clearly in a more visual way, which was also the challenging part of the project. But working with a team of passionate colleagues from different schools of thought made it an extremely learning experience, where we each brought in our expertise and kept an open mind to differing approaches to reach the end result.

The second project was a preview video for the launch of my brand "bala". Its first collection was inspired by the concept of being spiritual awakened amidst life challenges.
THE IDEATION
The creative direction was to portray the beauty of life even amidst day to day challenges- so we shot in a dark and abandoned construction site with low lighting to let the colors and details of the clothes shine through.The audio was soft but beauty, the clothes are a mix of modern indian with tribal and boho elements.
THE CHALLENGE
The challenge was to showcase the details and intricacy of the clothes in a way that excited the audience and also made it possible for it get a clear insight into the brands identity, and first visual look of the collection without revealing too much before the store launch.
