SCAD TRANSPORTATION
The SCAD campus is spread throughout the city of Savannah. The SCAD transportation system is fractured and unreliable. The existing information systems including signage, website information and tracking services can be lacking, confusing and outdated or inaccurate.
The objective of the project is to increase the value of intercollaboration across the SCAD campus through the SCAD transportation system to the target audience of Students and Faculty.This project is not limited in scope to just the Bus Infrastructure but all common modes of trans-port across SCAD.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Different methods were adopted to understand the user needs.
Survey Monkey Results of 194 SCAD students with a focus on a normal distribution across the five most popular Majors (Animation, Photography, Illustration, Fashion, Graphic Design).The spread of the data also follows the natural distribution of the Student Population by year.

ApiNav is a wayfinding and navigation system for SCAD students, faculty and visitors who want a cohesive system of enhancements based on the three value pillars of education, community and accessibility. We offer a phased development plan to ensure a collaborative and involved campus, with opportunities to grow and scale based on the needs of the entire campus. Unlike our current system and corporate services that do not seek to meet specific needs,our solution is custom tailored to SCAD’s unique position in the Savannah community by making use of existing infrastructure while expanding to new initiatives.

EXPLORATION STATION
ApiNav's interactive stations in every major SCAD building are both informative and playful. They is play information about events, the Bee Line, and more as well as a gamified SCAD Exploration experience. After playing, a student can walk away with an exclusive badge indicating which building they have conquered.

PHASE 3
Phase 3 is the most cost prohibitive of the phases, but it will yield the greatest improvements to campus and render the most effective tools. It includes the app development, bike share, and campus adjustments.

RIDE SHARE
The ApiNav app encourages students to travel together. This solution cultivates student relationships as well as being more environmentally responsible.
NO FEAR NAVIGATION
Students can use the Mayday button to get in touch with help immediately and the capacity
counter to foresee if a bus has space for them. Both of these solutions take the fear out of SCAD
travel by giving the user power to access vital information.

VALIDATION AND TESTING
We took our app out into the field (the library) to get some student responses. We receive a load of positive feedback. Many students thought that the app would improve their quality of life.
