Design Ideation
In this poster design, I am representing high technology can be playful and creative. So I use neutral technology blue as the basic background and use contract colors: orange as the color of the imaginary RIT buildings, bright yellow to express a fun and happy feeling.

The structure of the poster was inspired by my personal life experience. I traveled between
the United States and China. The more time passed by the more I found people are very similar even though it is on the opposite side of the earth. Also, the circle is an easy shape to balance and unite for visual design works. That is why I want to create a poster using the big circle and let the eye focus on the center for the event title and date information.

The boys and girls are future human like robots and they all stand around the centered circle.
I thought about the RIT campus, which is like a big forest, and I like it a lot. Then I put
mountains, river and fish also seagulls on.

So my future imagination for RIT is a place that merges nature and technology, people might change their body to be efficient and stay human-like looking. Robots help humans do things
and are their friends, RIT keeps the orange look but more fantastical.

In the end, I came up with an idea to use the technological elements as the background
and fill into blank space in foreground, which helps merge background and foreground.
