In this class project, I explored web design and the redesign of a site. I was tasked with designing a site that was more accessible and visually appealing to visitors.

This site was for the organization, Mission Dignity, a youth-led organization that works to improve education and acts as a college resource for Hispanic students in the Mission District in San Francisco. I had to bring the site into a Web 2.0 look and feel, while also keeping in mind its function and purpose.

I went with a more light-hearted design with motifs that called back to a school/learning environment, since the demographic was younger, geared to more experienced web users and to function for tutors/people who needed tutoring. I think a lot of the users were not used to web layout that caught their attention, while also being made just for them, as the original version of the site was quite outdated and unorganized. I wanted to keep the site very professional and accessible, but still for a younger demographic.
